■ It has been an amazing 14 years since the creation of this blog but the time has come for me to end this experience. It was an amazing run for Duck football. Thanks to all the readers and especially DDubs for all the support. I will be archiving the site with no new posts.

Duck Stuff: Wednesday Edition

■ Gwen Svekis (softball) and Kyle Kasser (baseball) each were awarded the Tom Hansen Medal winners yesterday.

The Tom Hansen Medal is awarded annually to the top male and female seniors at each university in the conference. The award is based on achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.

■ Mike White has decided to leave Oregon and head to Texas to be their new softball coach.

■ With the latest football recruiting binge Oregon has climbed to #6 nationally for the 2019 class.

■ Troy Dye and Jake Hanson were named preseason All-Americans by Athlon Sports yesterday.

■ Kenyon Yovan has been named to the roster of the 2018 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, USA Baseball announced yesterday.

Ducks Stuff: Sunday Edition

■ Oregon's bid to win their first WCWS title fell short in a 4-1 loss to Florida St. yesterday.

Duck Stuff: Saturday Edition

■ Oregon lost to the dawgs 6-2 yesterday at the WCWS.

Oregon (53-9) will play Saturday (6:30 p.m. PT, ESPN) against the winner of an elimination game between Georgia and Florida State earlier in the day.

Duck Stuff: Friday Edition

■ Oregon cruised to a 11-6 win over Arizona St. to open the WCWS.

Up Next: Ducks take on the dawgs at 4:00pm today. Broadcast on ESPN.

■ Kenyon Yovan was named to the first team All Pac-12-Conference.

■ Pac-12 announced TV and kickoff times for 4 football games yesterday.

Duck Stuff: Thursday Edition

■ Rob Moseley says the softball team has their eye on the ultimate prize plus strength coach Mark Dillon is the team's "unsung hero."

Four members of the team earned All-America honors yesterday. Pitcher Megan Kleist and catcher Gwen Svekis were both named first team NFCA All-Americans while pitcher Miranda Elish was a second team choice and third baseman Jenna Lilley was a third team pick.

With a win Thursday, the Ducks would play Friday (4 p.m., ESPN) against the Oklahoma-Washington winner. With a loss Thursday, the Ducks would be off Friday, then play the OU-UW loser on Saturday (9 a.m., ESPN).

■ The softball team run-ruled Kentucky 11-1 fueled by D.J. Sanders grand slam in the second inning.

Up Next: The Ducks (52-8) will open WCWS play in the very first game of this year's championship, against Arizona State on Thursday (9 a.m. PT, ESPN).

■ The baseball team lost to Arizona 11-4 to close out their regular season.

Duck Stuff: Saturday Edition

■ The softball team beat Kentucky 6-1 behind a two-hit complete game by Miranda Elish. The third and deciding game happens tonight at 6pm.

■ The baseball team beat Arizona 2-1 yesterday.

On deck: Oregon will look to win the series on Saturday when the Ducks send Matt Mercer (5-6, 3.95) to the mound. The Ducks have won all six of their home series in 2018.

Duck Stuff: Friday Edition

■ It wasn't a good day on the diamond as the softball team dropped the opener vs Kentucky 9-6 and the baseball team lost to Arizona 10-2.

Softball: The two teams will meet again Friday at 8 p.m., in a game to be televised by ESPN2.

Baseball: The two teams will play game two of the series on Friday at 7 p.m. at PK Park. Sophomore Kenyon Yovan (5-4, 3.21) will pitch for the Ducks, while Michael Flynn (6-4, 5.21) is scheduled to go to the mound for Arizona.

Miranda Elish was named the MVP of the Eugene Regional after the big win over Drake.

■ The baseball team lost to UCLA 15-1.

On deck: Game three of the series is Sunday at 12 p.m. Pac-12 Network will televise the game.

■ Megan Kleist threw a one hit gem as the Ducks beat Drake 5-0.

Drake eliminated BYU on Friday night, earning a rematch with the Ducks today. If the Ducks win that game they move on to the Super Regionals or play Drake again in the finals.

■ The baseball team lost to UCLA 12-4 yesterday.

On deck: Game two of the series is Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Pac-12 Network will televise the game.

The Ducks certainly have young talent at the position, but it remains to be seen how much age and experience will matter for this group, especially with even more youth behind them on the depth chart.

Ducks Stuff: Monday Edition

■ The softball team was selected the #1 overall seed and will host regional play which starts Thursday the University of Albany at 5:30 pm.

By negotiating the regular-season schedule with a 44-7 record, Oregon finished with the No. 1 RPI in all of NCAA softball, and was rewarded Sunday with the No. 1 overall seed into the NCAA Tournament.

■ The baseball team earned the series sweep by beating Utah 4-3 yesterday.

On Deck: The Ducks open a three-game series at UCLA on Friday. All three games will be on Pac-12 Networks, at 4 p.m. on Friday, 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon Sunday.

Ducks Stuff: Sunday Edition

■ The softball team completed the sweep of Cal winning 2-0 and clinched the Pac-12 title. Megan Kleist was named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year and nine team members earn Pac-12 honors.

Up Next: After the Ducks learn their seed today during the NCAA selection show, the schedule for NCAA regionals will be announced. Tickets for the Eugene regional will go on sale on Sunday night after the selection show.

■ Matt Mercer struck out 10 as the baseball team dominated Utah 13-1 yesterday.

On deck: Oregon will look for the sweep on today when the Ducks and Utes meet at noon. Freshman Kolby Somers (2-6, 4.20) will pitch for Oregon while the Utah counters with senior Josh Lapiana (2-3, 7.82). Lapiana is 2-0 with a 0.53 ERA in two starts against the Ducks during his career.

■ The softball team beat Cal 8-3 yesterday.

The Ducks (46-7, 20-3 Pac-12) can win an outright Pac-12 championship for the fifth time in six years with a win today in the regular season finale.

■ Kenyon Yovan homered while allowing just two runs in seven innings of a 6-2 Oregon win at PK Park on Friday night.

On Deck: The Ducks and Utes will play game two of the series tomorrow at 2 p.m. at PK Park. Matt Mercer (4-5, 3.62) will get the ball for Oregon while Utah will counter with Josh Tedeschi (1-8, 6.20).

Up Next: The Ducks and Utes meet for the third and final game of the series at 4 PM on Sunday. It will be senior day as Oregon's four seniors - DJ Sanders, Gwen Svekis, Jenna Lilley and Lauren Lindvall - will be honored prior to first pitch.

■ Another day another loss for the baseball team losing 10-9 to UC Irvine.

On deck: Oregon will look to salvage the series finale at UC Irvine Sunday at noon. Freshman Kolby Somers (1-6, 4.06) will pitch for the Ducks while Trenton Denholm (4-4, 4.56) is scheduled to pitch for UCI.

■ The softball team lost to ASU but still took the series from the Sun Devils.

Up Next: The Ducks return to the Jane on Thursday afternoon to face No. 2 Oklahoma for the Coach White Out Game. First pitch is at 4 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Networks. The Ducks then host Stanford for senior weekend in a three-game series starting Friday.
